Maskit came up with the idea, provided the drawings, and the guys from Vape Mechanic brought the idea to life.
The first pleasant surprise for the buyer and the first plus in the karma of the manufacturers comes from the packaging. In contrast to various square boxes and vague bags, or just pieces of thermal insulation for pipes, the mech mod is packed in a spacious cardboard jar with a metal bottom and lids. On the jar itself, the central parts are occupied by three logos: Maskit, Vape Mechanic and the device itself.
On the top cover there are additionally three stickers: the serial number of the device, the color and the presence or absence of engraving on the mod. e cigarette online At the moment, 4 different versions of this mod are available for order on the website: brass with engraving, painted matte black with engraving, brass without engraving and painted matte black without engraving. The second plus in the karma of the manufacturers is for a fairly wide choice of appearance options.
Under the lid is the second surprise of the packaging: a dense foam insert. Another plus and a small nitpick: they could have covered the ends for reliability.
Inside the mod there is even a very detailed instruction with a description of the design, main characteristics, recommendations for safe use and maintenance.

Review of the Spanner mech mod from Maskit Vape and Vape Mechanic – Mod number
The first thing that catches your eye is a rather tricky location of the serial number of the device. Its engraving is on the button, but not on the outside, but inside the mod. Next to the number there is the inscription MADE IN RUSSIA and the letters MB. I have no idea what they mean, maybe Maskit Vape, maybe not.
The name of the manufacturer VAPE MECHANIC is applied to the upper end of the mod, just around the hybrid 510 connector and in a natural recess, which we will talk about a little later.
The hybrid connector implies that only evaporators with a protruding positive contact can be used with this mod. For your safety, be sure to check this before installing the evaporator.
The second thread in the mod, intended for the button, is expectedly located at the bottom. There are no complaints at all about the quality of the threads, they are made well, do not creak, have no burrs or sharp edges. Wiping the threads with a cotton swab immediately after unpacking is visible in the photo, they are almost perfectly clean.
The internal processing of the mod itself is also done at a decent level, although traces of the cutter are visible there, but there is nothing terrible about this, this does not affect the direct operation of the device at all. A small ridge in the depth of the mod is also made specially, it is a small protection against short-circuiting of the positive contact of the battery to the case. Of course, an insulator in this place would be an ideal option, even such protection is better than nothing.
Review of the Spanner mech mod by Maskit Vape and Vape Mechanic – Button disassembled
The heart of any mech mod is its button. In this mod, it consists of 6 small parts: a fluoroplastic insulator, a copper and simultaneously silver-plated pin, a spring, a brass technological ring, the copper and again silver-plated button itself, and a brass button body.
The connector is worth mentioning separately: it protrudes above the upper end of the mod by about 0.2 mm. On the one hand, this is good, the evaporator does not stick to the mod, the paint on the end does not get scratched from frequent screwing of the drippers. But on the other hand, this design leads to the “levitation” of the evaporator above the device and the formation of a gap noticeable to the eye. Perhaps this can drive someone crazy, but I got used to it and stopped paying attention to this gap literally on the second day.
Summary and conclusions
What I liked:
Packaging and complete instructions
Hybrid connector
High-quality paint
Quality of manufacture
Nice button without distortions with the right spring
Constant contact in the silver-plated contact group
The evaporators do not stick
The button is easy to unscrew and service
Simple and minimalistic design
What is simply good:
There is minimal protection on the battery “plus” in the form of a small ledge
The evaporators with a diameter of 22 mm do not look alien on the 24 mm mod
In the black version, the case is absolutely not easily soiled
Moderate weight
No button lock
Ability to order a mod without engraving or without painting
Adequate price
What could be better:
The button is a bit hard, but this is a design feature
There is no insulator on the battery “plus” and inside the mod itself
Small choice of colors of the device itself (either black or not)
The ends of the mod are not protected foam inside the package
No protrusion on the 510 connector
Result
A very, very worthy mechanical mod. That’s it. I have nothing more to add! If you’re still wondering whether it’s worth buying – definitely yes!
