Smok company paid attention to this segment of the market almost immediately after its appearance on the market, as it felt its prospects. And at the moment the company is rightfully considered a leader in the production of devices of this format (just remember one of the best-selling devices in the history of vaping Smok RPM). The company is constantly working on the release of new devices that will meet the requirements of vaping, so the light saw the Smok Thallo 80W Pod Mod Kit.

The company’s designers did a good job on the exterior of the Smok Thallo 80W Pod Mod Kit, although it was not new or revolutionary, as in fact it is a round mod with a rectangular control panel and display. The dimensions of the device are not the smallest and not the biggest – 123.65×37.7×30 mm, but due to this it sits perfectly in the hand. The case is made of a traditional zinc alloy with a decorative insert, thanks to which the device looks bright and original.

The maximum power of the Thallo S Device is 80 watts, which is provided by a fairly powerful 3000 mAh battery, through which you can get a pretty good autonomy. The battery is charged with 1.2A current through the USB Type-C connector located on the front panel of the device.

An important feature of the Thallo S Device is the use of a new IQ-XS chip, which has become significantly more efficient and reliable. The reaction time of the chip is 0.0001 seconds (of course, it can be more, but it’s hard to check it at home). In addition to a full set of protections available to the vaper vari-watt mode, working at 1-80 watts of power. The device is equipped with a traditional color display from Smok, which is informative and easy to use.

Thallo POD Cartridge

If you look closely at the Thallo Pod cartridge, you involuntarily think of Voopoo’s PnP Pod. It is hard to say who exactly borrowed the idea of such cartridge, but apparently Smok took the Voopoo device as a basis, because PnP Pod appeared quite a long time ago. In any case, the Thallo RPM 2 Pod cartridge is easy to use and operate, because it is held in the battery pack with fairly strong magnets.

The Thallo RPM 2 Pod cartridge is designed to use RPM2 series vaporizers, of which there aren’t many yet, but it’s only a matter of time. Initially, two RPM2 Mesh 0.16 “Omega; Coil and RPM2 DC 0.6 “Omega; MTL Coil vaporizers on mesh and coil respectively are available to the vaper.

Blow control is provided on the battery block, there is a small slider, by moving it you can set the best vaping option for the vaper.

To refill the cartridge you need to take it out of the battery box, open the small silicone cap on the side and pour 5 ml of liquid into the tank.

Conclusions and impressions

To be honest, the Smok Thallo 80W Pod Mod Kit resembles the Voopoo Drag X/S very much, but has a number of its own features, advantages and benefits. Buying such a pod mod, the vaper will get a productive, reliable, self-contained device, distinguished by the variability of installed vaporizers (in the case of buying the Thallo RPM Pod cartridge).
