In today’s review, I will tell you about a set from the famous Chinese company Eleaf, consisting of two new products – the iStick Mix 160W battery mod and the ELLO POP sub-ohm tank.

iStick Mix with ELLO POP Packaging

What the manufacturer has long and invariably pleased with is the print on the device packaging: both the mod and the tank are designed exactly as shown on the cover, you can even see what the second panel of the box looks like. online vaping shop in canada On the back side, next to the barcode, you can find a mark about the color (in my case, it is Hell Witch, a little below I will explain what this “hellish witch” is), a little higher is a detailed list of the kit and very modestly indicated characteristics, only the maximum power and charging voltage. On the right there are countless links to the manufacturer’s resources on the network, to the left of the front side there is a clever system for checking originality, absolutely not superfluous in view of the huge number of fakes of Eleaf devices (on the night shift in the same workshop, on the same machines, yeah…). Those who are curious about how it works can read in the review of the iStick Pico X. If you are counting on the manufacturer’s warranty in the future (what if?), do not disdain to check your purchases.

iStick Mix with ELLO POP kit contents

iStick Mix 160W box mod

ELLO POP atomizer (with 6.5 ml flask)

Replacement flask (another 6.5 ml for the global market or 2 ml for Europe)

HW-M2 0.2 Ohm evaporator (installed)

HW-N2 0.2 Ohm evaporator

Quick Charge USB 3.0 (Type-C) cable

Manuals for the mod and tank

Replacement o-rings, seals and a magnet for checking originality

As always, the kit in the box is quite sufficient to install batteries, fill the tank with liquid and start vaping. Pleasant bonuses in the form of a spare evaporator and replaceable glass have long been taken for granted, it would be surprising not to find them here.

I would like to linger separately on the thick white meter-long cable that comes with the mod. The box mod uses a USB Type-C connector (a format that has been “new” for several years now), allowing you to plug in the connector in any direction, but the included cable also has an adapter for micro USB. By the way, I checked the cable on my mobile phone (also Type-C), which supports its own fast charging technology (Super Charge). The cable did not fail, you can easily charge other devices with high current from it.

Appearance of the iStick Mix with ELLO POP kit

The kit, as you might guess, consists of a box mod and a tank, each of the devices can also be purchased separately. If you buy a kit, the mod and atomizer will overlap in design: in my case, both devices are black, and the included drip tip repeats the colors of the side panel of the mod. By and large, the kits may differ only in these elements.

Eleaf iStick Mix with ELLO POP Kit Options

Eleaf offers five kit options to choose from, and these are not some boring and banal names, like the well-known Black, White or Gun Metal, but some outlandish names (with small annotations in the form of a legend on the manufacturer’s website), more suitable for anime characters or some computer game: Wind Ninja (black, gray and white), Seabed Snaker (orange and blue), Hell Witch (red and turquoise), Glary Knight (black, turquoise and orange) and Skyline Numen (yellow and blue). The latter, unlike the others, also has a gray paint job on the mod body and a steel tank, unlike the black coating of the others. Some schoolchildren will probably like this solution, a lure and an element of the game, that’s all.

Appearance and design of ELLO POP

Adjusting the Eleaf ELLO POP airflowAbout the ELLO POP atomizer, we can only say that it is part of the ELLO series of tanks, of which the company already has several pieces in its portfolio. New evaporators HW-M2 and HW-N2 were developed for the new product, which we will consider in more detail below. Otherwise, outwardly, this is a fairly typical representative of modern sub-ohm tanks with bubble glass, inflated glass, noticeably protruding beyond the dimensions of the atomizer and capable of holding up to 6.5 ml. Only here, for some reason, the manufacturer added an unusual silicone sticker in the form of a spiral to the complete glass, which quickly begins to peel off. By the way, compare “expectation and reality”, i.e. how this decoration differs in real life (photo above) and on the manufacturer’s renders (image below). The set includes a second glass, exactly the same, but without silicone strips. For the European market, the replacement will not only be straight, but also narrowed to fit into the 2 ml limitation of the TPD requirements. The tightening ring, located at the bottom of the tank, with two huge holes, can be adjusted in a fairly wide range and, if desired, even a very tight tightening with the airflow completely blocked. The ring rotates with a slight resistance, just enough so as not to get lost when accidentally touching the tank. There are stoppers in the extreme positions, you can unscrew the base and disassemble the tank without the slightest problem.

The tank is available in two body options – black and unpainted stainless steel – and this very silicone sticker can be of various colors, such as black, blue, red, yellow or gray. By the way, the included drip tip will match it.

Impressions

The Eleaf iStick Mix with ELLO POP set and the Eleaf iStick Mix with ELLO POP set as a whole, and each device separately, left only positive impressions. Several points can be called controversial, but nothing more. First of all, I don’t like the two different panels, in place of which identical inserts would look great, either both made of Resin or IML. By the way, fingerprints are almost invisible on the glossy surface, the print is so contrasting and glare-y that nothing else is visible. The metal part of the case is already matte and looks just as great and neat, does not collect dirt and fingerprints. Of course, to a reasonable limit. How durable the paint will be, as usual, can only be found out after some time, this is often the most painful issue of many Chinese devices. Otherwise, there is nothing repulsive in the set, except that it turned out to be a kind of parody of DRAG 157. But if Eleaf was not noticed copying competitors before, then for some reason they took a sin on their soul. And whether it is good or bad, as usual, only the buyer will decide. Moreover, they are not the first, and they will definitely not be the last. For my part, I can only say that the device is definitely not inferior to the “brick” from Voopoo, and in many ways it clearly wins. At the same time, without loud marketing slogans like “someone’s killer”.

Box mod iStick Mix from EleafEleaf iStick Mix pleases with both high-quality assembly and excellent trouble-free operation, nothing rattles or dangles anywhere, the buttons work instantly, the response to Fire is instant. Even when exiting sleep mode, which not every device can boast of yet. The lower resistance threshold, specified at 0.05 Ohm, can also be called honest and working, the Wake RDA dripper with a 0.06 Ohm winding was “serviced” by the board at 138.2 W, the board’s current output limit of 50 A allows you to vape such coils without any problems. The only complaints that can be made about the ELLO POP are the stupid coil on the flask (drop protection? Well, well…) and the loose filling cap. No, nothing leaks through it (yet?), the hole is sealed tightly and there is not a single drop even on the platform. But the slightly loose cap looks somehow unreliable. In my opinion, some kind of slider would be more appropriate here. And the best protection from children is to keep your devices away from them. I liked the box for its dimensions, they are quite comparable with some single-battery devices (below is a photo with Hugo Vapor URUS under 21700), although the weight is not at all such that you can throw the setup (with batteries and a tank – 310 g) into your shirt pocket.

If there is nothing special to say about the tank, neither good nor bad, since it is just a typical atomizer with evaporators on the mesh, albeit with a little unusual (quite successful, in my opinion), then the mod, on the contrary, was very pleasing. In addition to the appearance, convenience and build quality, also the price.
